In environments for Nursery, Pre-School, and Elementary aged children (SK to Grade 5), we aim to create an experience that is kid-friendly, Bible centred, fosters relationships with peers and leaders, and ensures a place where children are safe and are able to have fun.

Being a volunteer in Children’s Ministry could take on a variety of roles: care-giver, teacher, teacher assistant, registration attendant, group leader, music leader, administrator, or technical support.

If you have a passion for young children, and want to see them experience the best hour of every week, enabling young hearts and minds to take their next steps in following Jesus, consider joining the team.

Our First Impressions teams hope is to establish a community where people feel noticed, accepted and wowed by the degree that their needs were met . We take the first step to welcome every guest on Sunday morning. We want everyone to feel like we genuinely cared that they came.

First Impression volunteer roles include our café, greeting, ushering, welcome centre, parking, baking and emergency responders.

If you have heart for reaching out to people to make them feel comfortable and included, no matter where they are at, than this is the team you should consider being a part of.

Our worship and prayer ministries are designed to help people encounter God. Through worship and prayer, we directly relate to the God of the universe, as He reveals His true nature to us and we respond with wholehearted devotion.

Our prayer teams meet weekly on Sunday mornings to pray for our church and for God to work in the hearts of all those in attendance. Our worship teams serve once every three weeks, practicing twice for every time they serve.

*Some roles require auditions.

We believe that excellence honours God and inspires people. The Sunday Production team attempts to bring together the content and message of the morning in a way that is clear and inspiring.

The Production Team includes Sound, Live Graphics, Lighting, Set Design, Pre Recorded Video Messages.

If you have an interest in technology, sound, lights, video or being creative then this team is for you.

Southridge Student Life exists to create environments where students can encounter God, connect with each other and engage in God’s purpose for their lives in His world! And we do all of these things in a spirit of celebration and fun!

Southridge Student Life volunteer roles include leading a small group of guys or girls, prayer, supporting large group programs with creativity and logistical details, and driving. Any conversations that bring up fresh ideas and ways of doing things are also welcome!

We are not looking for volunteers who are necessarily “cool”, but who genuinely love students enough to be there in a consistent way to assist them in their journey toward God and adulthood. If this is you, we’d love to hear from you!

The Set Up Team plays a critical role in the Sunday morning experience at our portable locations. From the Auditorium, to the Kids Gym, to the Lobby and the Café, each week the team transforms these environments into a place where our ministry volunteers and guests can be the church with one another.

The Set Up Team is an easy place to get involved—all you need is a good attitude and an eagerness to lend a hand. Anyone can be trained to be part of the team, and there are also specialized roles in the areas of production set up and towing trailers.

If you’re eager to lend a hand, or are interested in getting behind the scenes on a Sunday morning, or if you just want to meet some new people at your location, why not start with a one-time try on the set up team.

Operations serves as the back bone of our church programs, providing infrastructural support to all of our ministries. Operations helps things get done by providing resources and systems that serve our church.

There are a wide range of ways to get involved in serving in the Operations Team, and often these opportunities provide a great first step for volunteering in ministry. Whether you enjoy cleaning or maintenance, want to help answer phones at reception, like working with numbers, or are interested in IT or communications initiatives there are lots of opportunities.

If you feel as though you’re not sure where you would fit when it comes to serving in a church, we probably have a place for you in our Operations Team!

Visual media are an incredible resource to engage the hearts and minds of people. We work closely with the Sunday Morning team to help communicate the greatest truth the word needs to know, Jesus Christ.

Media volunteer roles include many different skill levels and time commitments. We use photography, film/video, graphic design and motion graphics to engage in creative communication with our community.

If you are interested in helping in the creative communication we would love to talk with you more. No matter your skill or commitment level, there is a way for you to get involved.

Through serving, we strive to meet both the practical needs and the relational needs of everyone involved. We want to offer a place of belonging and acceptance where people can truly experience community!

Does this sound like where you might be at right now? If so, I want you to know that we believe we all have something to contribute and that a great place to start exploring this is with one-time serving opportunities.

These one time serves are for the individual who isn’t quite ready to volunteer regularly or isn’t really sure where they would fit in.  In either case, we just want  to create an opportunity for you to contribute no matter where you are at.  It may take one, two or more one time serving opportunities to realize where your interests and gifting would best fit.

What’s most important is that each one of us is moving forward in a spirit of loving and serving one another with the gifts and passions that we bring to the table.

If this is where you are at I would encourage you to try a one-time serve or meet us for a coffee and we can sit together to find out what role would be a good fit for you.

Getting to know you and chatting about your likes and dislikes is probably a great starting point in finding out what volunteer role would allow you to make the biggest difference in the lives of others. Our hope is that you find a position that is comfortable and life giving.

Why Volunteer?

When we live out the values of selflessness, generosity, significance, and togetherness we get to enjoy and show other the very best of the family of God -- a pot-luck style, where every member of the family is sharing in the responsibility by bringing what they can to the table.
